Shocking Delay Strikes Again: Xbox Edition of Ark: Survival Ascended Pushes Release Date Even Further Back
Nov 16, 2023 4:03 PMThe Xbox Series X|S version of 'Ark: Survival Ascended' faces an unexpected delay due to certification issues. Initially expected to launch this week, the game from Studio Wildcard has been postponed with new aspirations for a release early next week. The developer is working closely with Microsoft to resolve these issues and submit a new build for approval.
Despite the Xbox delay, the PlayStation 5 version is still on track to release by the end of the month. The game, an updated remake of 'Ark: Survival Evolved,' features Unreal Engine 5 enhancements, a revamped user interface, character customization options, and split-screen multiplayer capabilities. Additionally, a unique in-game mod browser is set to bring mod support to console versions.
This news comes after 'Ark 2' was delayed to late 2024. In response, 'Ark: Survival Ascended' was announced, with some controversy around the original game's servers being taken offline and the initial plan to only offer the remake as part of a bundle with 'Ark 2'—a decision Studio Wildcard later reconsidered.
For fans eagerly awaiting the enhanced dinosaur-survival experience, the delay is disappointing. However, the game's October release for PC users has provided a preview of the improvements and new features that console players can anticipate. Studio Wildcard apologizes for the inconvenience and is focused on ensuring the game’s availability on consoles as soon as possible.

Hey fellow gamers, looks like our dino-taming ambitions on Xbox need to be put on pause, but at least it's just a hiccup, not a meteor strike. It's a bit of a bummer, but with Unreal Engine 5 enhancements and that sweet mod support on the horizon, I'd say it's totally gonna be worth the wait

A hiccup for Xbox Ark fans, but good things come to those who wait – especially with the promise of Unreal Engine 5 and new customization options jazzing up the prehistoric action. Here's hoping the extra polish leads to a smoother dino-taming adventure when it finally hits the consoles.
