This marks the second round of layoffs this year, following a reduction of 45 staff members in January. Despite recent acquisitions of studios like Fly Studio, SockMoney Studios, Codeglue, and Midwinter Entertainment, Behaviour cites the need to focus on its historical strengths amid fierce industry competition. The development of Dead by Daylight will not be impacted by these strategic changes. This trend of industry layoffs adds to the nearly 20,000 job cuts seen in the last two years, reflecting varied and complex reasons beyond just pandemic overspending.
