Sea of Thieves private servers set sail this Thursday

Dec 04, 2023 11:10 AM

Sea of Thieves, the popular pirate-themed multiplayer game, is scheduled to receive a significant update this Thursday, which includes the much-requested addition of private servers. In these 'Safer Seas' mode, up to four friends can explore a pirate world in peace, focusing entirely on PvE content without interference from other player-controlled crews. Although some live-service events and earning rates will be disabled on these servers, players will enjoy a more isolated, competition-free experience. Notably, gold earnings are reduced to thirty percent of the normal rate on these private servers. Alongside this update, the game is also hosting a 'Gifts & Glory' event from December 8 to 24, where players can log in to gain gold, a special flag, access to 'cursed chest voyages', and earn fireworks. The introduction of private servers is a significant response to the community's requests and adds new ways to enjoy the game.

Can you earn rewards in Sea of Thieves' private 'Safer Seas' servers?

Yes, you can earn rewards on Sea of Thieves' private 'Safer Seas' servers, but only thirty percent of the gold that you would typically earn on public servers. Certain live-service events and features, like Guilds and Hourglass Factions, will not be available.

The introduction of 'Safer Seas' in Sea of Thieves is a grog-worthy update that'll make sailing with your mateys chill and skirmish-free; it's savvy that Rare's balancing the tranquility with lower gold hauls to keep the public seas bustling. Plus, the 'Gifts & Glory' event is like finding a treasure chest on a deserted island—gotta love racking up those shiny rewards while the cannons are silent

Rare really listened to the Sea of Thieves community with this one; the 'Safer Seas' mode is the chill, pirate fantasy some of us have been craving. Meanwhile, the 'Gifts & Glory' event spices up the holiday season for everyone, even if we're hoarding a bit less gold in private waters.

Ahoy there The 'Safer Seas' mode is a cool addition for Sea of Thieves, offering a chill haven for players looking to sail without the PvP scuffles – though it's savvy to note that treasures on these calmer waters will fill your coffers at a slower rate. The 'Gifts & Glory' event sure sounds like a blast for those seeking a little extra sparkle and shine in their pirate life.
