Sea of Thieves Adds Fast Travel Feature

Jan 17, 2024 1:47 PM

Exciting news for "Sea of Thieves" players as developer Rare is set to launch a substantial update for the swashbuckling multiplayer game on January 23rd. This update, ushering in Season 11, introduces a game-changer for the pirate adventure title — fast travel. Previously, players had to manually start quests at various trading company outposts, then sail the route towards the quest location and back. The new feature allows pirates to begin quests right away from a newly added Quest Table and teleport directly to the quest's location.

However, to claim the loot gathered during quests, players will still need to sail to the nearest outpost. Additionally, Season 11 expands other in-game events like Ashen Lord fights and Sunken Kingdom treasury raids, now accessible without crossing lengthy distances across the map. As players eagerly anticipate these changes, Rare also increases the level cap from 75 up to 100 for all trading companies, unlocking fresh rewards and customization options for ships.

What's new in Sea of Thieves Season 11?

Sea of Thieves Season 11 introduces fast travel via a Quest Table, immediate access to events like Ashen Lord fights and Sunken Kingdom raids, and increases the maximum level for trading companies to 100, providing players with new ship rewards and customization options.

"Sea of Thieves," developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios, has been a staple multiplayer experience since its release in 2018. As a shared-world adventure game for Xbox and PC, it has captivated players with its blend of piracy, sailing, exploration, and combat. Its longevity is partly due to regular updates and seasons, each adding new features, missions, and cosmetics, which keep the community engaged and the gameplay fresh. With the incoming fast travel option and expanded content, Season 11 is set to be one of the most significant updates the game has seen, promising more streamlined and varied adventures for all aspiring pirates.
