Rumor: God of War Ragnarok expansion to be announced this year

Nov 01, 2023 3:29 PM

An expansion for the game God of War Ragnarök may be announced this year, according to Spanish publication Areajugones. This insider information suggests the expansion could be released as a standalone game, similar to Spider-Man: Miles Morales. However, there are no clear details regarding when this announcement could be made, though The Game Awards on December 7th is seen as a plausible date. This follows earlier rumors suggesting an expansion for God of War Ragnarök. At that time, leaker 'The Snitch' claimed the expansion was 60% complete and expected to be released the following year.

Despite the rumors, the game's director, Eric Williams, previously stated he did not expect there would be any DLC for the game, describing it as already large and quipping that "I think we put everything we had into it, so I wouldn't count on it." God of War Ragnarök, available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, was praised by Gamer.nl, receiving a score of 9 out of 10.
