Rayman Returns: Ubisoft's Mascot Makes Comeback - Not as New Game

Apr 17, 2024 10:04 AM

Ubisoft's iconic character Rayman is making a comeback, albeit not through a video game, but as a board game called Rayman the Board Game. Set to release in the third quarter of 2024 for English-speaking countries, the board game is designed for 2-5 players aged seven and up. The game, developed by the Montreal-based Flyos Games with designer Maxime Tardif, aims to recreate the Rayman experience in a new format. Players will join their favorite heroes in an epic race to dodge dangers and save Teensies. While details are scarce, anticipation grows for this physical adaptation. Meanwhile, a new Rayman video game remains elusive, with the character's last appearance being in a DLC for Mario + Rabidds Sparks of Hope. Prince of Persia fans have more to look forward to, with a new game titled The Rogue: Prince of Persia releasing in May.

When is Rayman the Board Game releasing and will it be available in languages other than English?

Rayman the Board Game is scheduled for release in Q3 2024. As of now, the game has been announced for English-speaking countries, with no confirmation of other language editions or a release in Germany.

Rayman, Ubisoft's limbless hero, has been a beloved character since his first appearance in 1995. The original Rayman game was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and spawned a series of sequels, including Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, and the popular Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. Known for its colorful graphics, charming characters, and inventive gameplay, Rayman has cemented its place as a classic in platforming history. However, it has been quite some time since a new standalone Rayman game hit the shelves, leaving fans yearning for more of his adventures.
