Rainbow Six Siege Goes Free-to-Play with Exciting New X Update

Ubisoft has announced significant updates for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, including the Rainbow Six Siege X update scheduled for release on June 10, 2025. This update introduces a new six-player versus six-player mode called Dual Front that focuses on area control, set on a new map named District. The game is transitioning to a free-to-play model, allowing players access to key modes and the opportunity to earn up to 26 operators through gameplay. Enhanced graphics will update classic maps with up to 4K textures and improved audio cues. Additionally, an innovative anti-cheat system, R6 ShieldGuard, promises to keep the gameplay fair. A closed beta for the new mode is currently available, allowing gamers to participate until March 19.

Players can look forward to a new mode called Dual Front, visual revamps of classic maps, a more robust anti-cheat system, and a transition to a free-to-play model including earning operators through gameplay progression.
