Sony is enhancing its offering for premium PlayStation Plus members, with PS5 cloud streaming set to launch later this month. Revealed in a blog post by Sony Interactive Entertainment's Senior Vice President of Platform Experience, Hideaki Nishino, the feature will enable gamers to stream hot titles like Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, among others.

In addition, PlayStation Plus Premium members will gain the ability to stream games from the Game Trials catalog and digital PS5 titles they own, such as Resident Evil 4 and Dead Island 2. Gamers can select from four resolution options: 720p, 1080p, 1440p, and 4K resolution with 60fps and SDR or HDR output. Keep in mind, though, you need a minimum internet speed of 38mbps to stream at the highest resolution.

Sony previously enabled certain members to stream selected PS5 games at 4K resolution in an August beta test. The official launch will take a staggered approach due to its vast scale, with Japan seeing the service from October 17, Europe from October 23, and North America from October 30.

Coinciding with this news, Sony announced revamped streaming service Sony Pictures Core. This allows PS4 and PS5 users to rent and buy movies directly on their console. PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe members even get a choice of 100 movies to stream at no extra cost. These new services follow major modifications to PlayStation Plus last year, when Sony divided its offering into multiple tiers, among other changes.
