Promised Payday 3 Patch Delayed Once Again

Oct 17, 2023 3:40 PM

Once again, the much-awaited Payday 3 patch has been delayed, according to developer Starbreeze on social media. The patch, initially expected to launch earlier this month, has been postponed for the second time due to new issues discovered, with no new release date announced yet."Robbers, we regret the lack of communication around the first patch. We have found some issues that need to be addressed before the patch can come out, but this is a priority for our teams," shared the development team.

The patch, promised earlier this month by Starbreeze, aimed to add more than two hundred improvements to the game. Originally, the patch was supposed to be released on October 5th but was delayed to mid-month, which also failed to materialize.

Payday 3 was released on Sept 21, with players facing matchmaking issues since its inception, negatively impacting or even completely inhibiting their ability to participate in games. Starbreeze claimed earlier this month that the matchmaking issues were near resolved, but fans expressed dissatisfaction with various other issues within the game. Consequently, the player count - particularly on Steam - has been dwindling.

Payday 3 is available on Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, PC, and also via Game Pass. The game, set a few years after Payday 2 in New York City, brings back Dallas, Hoxton, Chain, and Wolf after their hiatus from criminal activities.
