Sony may be developing a novel PlayStation controller with slots for charging earbuds, according to a recently observed patent. The patent, which turned up in a GameRant article, proposes a design where the controller doubles as a headphone storage, charging, and connection case. The innovation aims to reduce the difficulty of managing multiple devices, enhancing overall user experience by limiting the number of devices required for communication with the gaming console. This development chimes well with PlayStation's first official wireless earbuds, the Pulse Explore. Sony's increasing focus on portable gaming is also witnessed in their upcoming PS5 streaming handheld, the PlayStation Portal. Although patents do not always birth tangible products, the creation of this new DualSense is plausible. Alongside these advancements, the hardware scene at PlayStation remains active, with the imminent launch of the PS5 Slim and the PlayStation Access controller. PlayStation Portal is set to make its debut on November 15.
