POKEMON LEGENDS Z-A ANNOUNCED FOR SWITCH, SET TO RELEASE IN 2025

Feb 27, 2024 2:37 PM

The Pokemon Company has officially announced a new addition to their hit series with Pokémon Legends Z-A, slated for release on the Nintendo Switch in 2025. Serving as the sequel to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, this upcoming title will take players on a journey through the Kalos region, which was originally featured in Pokémon X and Y. One of the key highlights of the game will be the bustling metropolis of Lumiose City, undergoing urban redevelopment to become a shared space for both humans and Pokémon. The announcement also teased the return of the Mega Evolutions mechanic, a fan-favorite feature that has been missing from recent games. Additionally, the inclusion of Zygarde, a legendary Pokémon from the X and Y entries, is suggested by the 'Z' in the new game's title.

While no gameplay footage was shown in the first trailer, the worldwide launch for the Switch is set for 2025. Speculation arises on whether the game will also be available on the rumored new Nintendo console expected next year, but no official confirmation has been made. Apart from this major announcement, the Pokémon Presents also introduced Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, an app for iOS and Android users that allows the opening of virtual Pokémon card packs, releasing later this year.

When is Pokémon Legends Z-A coming out, and will it be available on the new Nintendo console?

Pokémon Legends Z-A is scheduled to release worldwide in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch. While there is speculation about availability on a new Nintendo console, which is rumored to launch next year, there has been no official confirmation about the game being released on any other platform apart from the Switch.

Pokémon Legends Z-A is set to follow the innovative gameplay framework established by its predecessor, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, combining action and RPG elements in an open-world setting. The previous installment, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, was highly praised for its fresh take on the traditional Pokémon formula, including real-time Pokémon captures and an emphasis on exploration and crafting. With Pokémon Legends Z-A continuing the Legends series narrative, fans are eagerly waiting to see how it will expand upon Arceus's foundations and reintroduce past mechanics like Mega Evolutions to enhance the beloved Pokémon gameplay experience.
