No Moon Knight Season 2 Trust Marvel's Post-Credits at Your Peril

Feb 25, 2025 12:59 PM

Marvel's Moon Knight is unlikely to receive a second season anytime soon, despite its first season ending with a post-credits scene that hinted at further developments. Marvel Television's head, Brad Winderbaum, stated that although there are plans for Moon Knight in the future, the TV landscape has shifted towards annual releases for shows. The character has yet to make a significant appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the show's debut in 2022, culminating in fans questioning the value of post-credit scenes given the lack of follow-up on many of them.

nWill there be a season 2 of Moon Knight?

No, Marvel has confirmed that a second season of Moon Knight is not currently in the works, although there are future plans for the character.

Moon Knight, featuring Oscar Isaac in the titular role, debuted on Disney+ in March 2022 and quickly gained a following due to its unique storytelling and complex character exploration. The show introduced audiences to Marc Spector, a former mercenary with dissociative identity disorder who becomes the avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Despite its initial success and rich source material from the comics, the series has been halted in favor of new Marvel projects.

It’s a shame Moon Knight’s momentum got sidelined, especially with Oscar Isaac’s stellar performance and the show’s fresh take on the MCU formula. Hopefully, when Marc Spector does return, it’ll be worth the wait—though Marvel might want to rethink those post-credit scenes if they’re just going to leave fans hanging.

It’s a bummer that Moon Knight fans will have to wait longer for more of Marc Spector’s story, but at least Marvel’s keeping the door open for his return. Honestly, though, with how packed the MCU slate is, it’s no surprise they’re pacing things out—still, those post-credit scenes are starting to feel like a tease without payoff.
