Nioh 3 has been officially announced during the PlayStation State of Play event, with a playable demo available until June 18, 2025. This new installment in Team Ninja's acclaimed soulslike series is set in Japan's Sengoku period and introduces two distinct combat styles: Samurai and Ninja. The Samurai style will feature enhancements such as new martial arts actions and improved deflection mechanics for parrying attacks. Meanwhile, the Ninja style focuses on agility, featuring quick dodges, aerial movement, and Ninjitsu techniques like clone attacks and last-second evades. Nioh 3 boasts an open field design that sets it apart from previous titles, allowing players to explore the journey of a young warrior destined to become the next Shogun. The game is anticipated for release on PS5 in 2026.

When will Nioh 3 be released?

Nioh 3 is set to be released in 2026, with a demo available until June 18, 2025, allowing players to experience early gameplay and character creation features.

Nioh is known for its unique blend of action RPG mechanics and challenging gameplay, heavily inspired by the Dark Souls series. Since its inaugural release, it has carved out a niche in the gaming community, with its mix of intense combat and deep lore tied to Japanese history. Team Ninja continues to innovate the franchise with each title, consistently enhancing gameplay mechanics and world-building elements.

The Sengoku period setting and dual combat styles have me hyped—Team Ninja always nails historical vibes while keeping combat fresh. That 2026 release feels far, but at least the demo will tide us over with some sweet parry action.
