Metal Eden, a new Sci-Fi first-person shooter (FPS), has been announced during the Sony State of Play event. Developed by Reikon Games, known for the acclaimed RUINER, the game features a high-speed movement system and parkour mechanics. Set to release on May 6, 2025, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The reveal trailer has generated excitement among fans eager for a stylish single-player FPS experience.

What makes Metal Eden different from RUINER?

Metal Eden enhances the movement-based gameplay established in RUINER by shifting to a first-person perspective, allowing for greater immersion and dynamic gameplay as players zoom through a tech-heavy world.

Reikon Games, the studio behind Metal Eden, is composed of former developers from Techland and CD Projekt Red, which adds significant industry credibility. Their previous release, RUINER, was a successful top-down shooter that emphasized fluid movement and stylish combat. Metal Eden is expected to build upon these foundational elements with an expanded scope and richer narrative.

It’s awesome to see Reikon Games taking the fast-paced, stylish combat of RUINER and cranking it up to 11 with a first-person perspective—feels like they’re blending the best of DOOM’s intensity with their own signature flair. Plus, with their CD Projekt Red and Techland pedigree, I’m already hyped for the world-building and narrative depth they’ll bring to this sci-fi universe.
