New FLINTLOCK trailer: Coming to Game Pass and still looks amazing

Feb 22, 2024 10:41 AM

The highly anticipated action RPG Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn received a new gameplay trailer, showcasing the game's combat and teasing an extended gameplay reveal in March. A44's title, which resembles a fusion of Dark Souls and God of War, was delayed from its initial 2023 release window to summer 2024. The latest footage indicates significant polish and features combat with protagonist Nor Vanek and their companion Enki, as well as a look at a bonfire-like checkpoint system and hints of the narrative. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S and will be available on Game Pass upon its release.

When is Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn releasing?

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is planned for a summer 2024 release, with a more precise date expected to be announced following the March 2024 extended gameplay reveal.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a game by A44, the same developers who created Ashen, a well-received Soulslike game. Building on the experience from Ashen, Flintlock promises to bring players into a new world with its own distinct combat system, creature companions, and gameplay mechanics, hoping to strike a chord with fans of the Soulslike and action RPG genres. With its arrival on popular platforms and inclusion in Game Pass from day one, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is geared up to be a strong new contender in the action RPG market. This debut on Game Pass also aligns with industry trends, offering accessibility and immediate exposure to a large player base.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn's delay to summer 2024 might be disappointing for fans, but the new gameplay trailer gives us a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come. The mix of Dark Souls and God of War elements looks promising, so I'm definitely keeping an eye out for the extended gameplay reveal in March.
