Disney and BBC have announced a new Doctor Who spin-off series, The War Between The Land And The Sea, during San Diego Comic-Con. This five-part series will star Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, featuring returning characters Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Colonel Ibrahim, as well as the classic Doctor Who villains, the Sea Devils. The plot involves an international crisis triggered by an ancient species emerging from the ocean, prompting UNIT to take action. Created by showrunner Russell T Davies and series writer Pete McTighe, the series promises to be a thrilling addition to the Doctor Who universe, beginning filming next month and streaming on Disney+ in the U.S. and BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K.
