May 14, 2024 7:59 PM

Dead by Daylight, the popular multiplayer horror game, has announced an exciting lineup of content for the year ahead. Fans can look forward to six major updates, including much-anticipated chapters featuring Dungeons & Dragons and Castlevania, along with the introduction of a new 2v8 Mode. In the D&D chapter, players can encounter the iconic villain Vecna as the new Killer and explore a dungeon map filled with easter eggs. The Castlevania chapter details are still under wraps, but it's set to bring the series' gothic horror to the game. The 2v8 Mode will oppose two Killers against eight Survivors with a class system and larger maps.

Alongside these updates, a new co-op roguelite game titled What the Fog has been released, which sits within the Dead by Daylight universe. The game features characters from Dead by Daylight in a hostile world, and the first two million copies are available for free for a limited time. Behaviour Interactive also teased Project T, their in-development PvE action-horror shooter. Fans have the opportunity to join the Insider Program for exclusive news and playtests. Additionally, a gameplay trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone, indicating a dark narrative experience, was shared with the audience.

What gameplay changes will Dead by Daylight's 2v8 Mode bring?

The new 2v8 Mode in Dead by Daylight is set to provide an entirely different dynamic by introducing two Killers against eight Survivors. Gameplay adjustments include replacing Perks with a class system, and Hooks are substituted by Cages. This mode is designed for larger maps to accommodate the increased number of players, ensuring a fresh and ramped-up action experience for veterans and new players alike.

Background Information: Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric survival horror game developed by Behaviour Interactive. Since its release in 2016, it has seen continuous updates, including new killers, survivors, and tie-ins with popular franchises. Its gameplay revolves around one killer hunting down four survivors trying to escape a closed-off environment. Cross-play functionality has helped maintain a large and active player base, and Dead by Daylight has become well-known for its collaborative chapters with other franchises, creating a diverse and engaging horror universe.
