These changes coincide with the addition of the new DLC character Takeda, who will be playable during the upcoming Evo fighting game tournament. Alongside Takeda, the final Kameo character, Ferra, will also be introduced. Bugs will be fixed, and numerous characters, including Nitara and Li Mei, will receive substantial buffs. NetherRealm is also preparing to reveal further details about Mortal Kombat 1's future during San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 2 movie is slated for release on October 24, 2025.
