Microsoft has recently released a touching trailer to toast its acquisition of the gaming giant, Activision Blizzard. This purchase means that Xbox Games Studios now boasts of multiple popular gaming franchises including World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Diablo, Crash Bandicoot, and Candy Crush, in addition to previously owned franchises such as Halo, Fallout, Forza, and Starfield.

The trailer was rolled out alongside the formal announcement that Activision Blizzard is now a part of Xbox, making the $68.7 billion deal, the largest in the history of gaming. From its initial unveiling in January 2022 to finalization in October 2023, the journey of the acquisition was not free of hurdles, which have been well-documented in an IGN timeline.

As part of the announcement celebrations, franchises owned by Xbox put forth a warm welcome to Activision, Blizzard, and mobile publisher King. Various games including Microsoft Flight Simulator, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Sea of Thieves, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and others were highlighted in the trailer.

In other news, Bobby Kotick, the controversial Activision Blizzard CEO, is expected to continue in his role until the end of 2023, upon request from Xbox boss, Phil Spencer.
