Recent evidence suggests that fans of the beloved Metal Gear Solid (MGS) series may soon have something to look forward to. Solid evidence has emerged that indicates a potential remaster of the popular PlayStation 3 classic, Metal Gear Solid 4, is in the works. This speculation is due to code found in the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection launcher, which suggests that more games, specifically, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and MGS 5, might be added to the collection in future.
Metal Gear Solid 4, first released in 2008, concluded Solid Snake's saga while heavily tying into Big Boss's story. The game is currently only available on the no-longer-in-production PlayStation 3, making the possibility of a re-release particularly exciting for fans. The game was widely popular among critics and gamers alike, with many praising its complex narrative and technical achievements.
Interestingly, Metal Gear Solid 4 was originally labeled as the final game in the series. However, the legendary game designer, Hideo Kojima, later produced another title, Metal Gear Solid 5.
Confirmation of these possible re-releases was further strengthened by the discovery of placeholders for Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5 on the official website. The timing of these leaks suggests that these games might form part of the eagerly anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Despite the issues experienced with the release of Vol. 1, including lower-than-expected graphics quality and incomplete game libraries on some platforms, the anticipation for Vol. 2 remains high amongst the MGS community.
