Magic: the Gathering Unveils 10 New Modern Horizons 3 Lands

May 22, 2024 4:00 PM

Preview season for Magic: The Gathering’s Modern Horizons 3 is exciting, featuring ten new double-faced dual lands. These cards offer players the flexibility to be played as either the spell on the front side or the land on the back, making them versatile additions to any deck. Each card represents one of Magic’s color pairs and uses hybrid mana for added flexibility. This unique design opens up new strategies, especially for Commander players and those participating in booster drafts. Interestingly, these cards also support previously fringe strategies, like the Goblin Charbelcher decks, by providing dual lands without lands on the front face. The cards will be uncommon rarity, making them accessible for budget Commander decks. Modern Horizons 3 releases on June 14, with prereleases starting June 7, and a digital debut on MTG Arena on June 11.

What makes the dual lands in Modern Horizons 3 unique?n

The dual lands in Modern Horizons 3 are unique because they are double-faced, allowing players to choose between a spell and a land, and they use hybrid mana for increased gameplay flexibility.

Magic: The Gathering (MTG) first launched in 1993 and has grown to become one of the most popular trading card games in the world. Modern Horizons sets are known for introducing new and powerful cards specifically designed to shake up the Modern format, a popular way to play the game. These sets often bring in reprints and innovative mechanics that excite both new players and long-time fans. Modern Horizons 3 continues this tradition, with its new cycle of dual lands offering fresh strategies and deck-building opportunities.
