HADES 2: Try the Roguelite Sequel Soon

Apr 16, 2024 6:11 PM

Supergiant Games is opening registrations for a Technical Test of "Hades 2", a sequel to the critically acclaimed roguelite RPG. Gamers are excited as this means they could get an early taste of the game before its Early Access release, which has been pushed to the second quarter of 2024. Although announced at the Game Awards late 2022, the developers are prioritizing delivering a polished experience, hence the delay. Interested players can sign up via the "Hades 2" Steam page by clicking the "Request Access" button. However, the initial number of testers will be limited, with more being added gradually.

The system requirements are modest, requiring a PC with Windows 10 64-bit, a Dual Core 2.4 GHz CPU, a DirectX 12 compatible GPU with 2 GB VRAM, and 4 GB RAM. The Technical Test will feature the first major area of the game and will run for more than a week but less than a month. Its duration will directly impact the date of the Early Access release. The limited content will resemble Tartarus from the original "Hades". While no exact release date for the full Early Access is revealed, the Technical Test serves as a precursor, suggesting that the sequel's release could be sooner rather than later. Roguelite enthusiasts have more good news as "The Rogue: Prince of Persia" from the creators of "Dead Cells" will also start its Early Access phase soon.

How can I participate in the Hades 2 Technical Test?

To participate in the "Hades 2" Technical Test, go to the Steam page of "Hades 2", click on the "Request Access" for the playtest, and wait for an email confirmation if you're selected.

"Hades", the precursor to "Hades 2", was a massive success, blending rogue-like mechanics with a narrative-driven gameplay experience. Players take on the role of Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the Underworld. The game is known for its rich storytelling, engaging combat, and replayability. It won numerous awards, including multiple Game of the Year accolades. "Hades 2" will likely build upon the strong foundation of its predecessor while introducing new mechanics, a fresh story, and updated graphics to entice both fans and newcomers to the series.
