Nvidia, renowned for its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, is set to raise subscription prices in Europe and Canada according to an announcement made on October 16, 2023. Starting November 1, the prices for Nvidia's Priority and Founders Ultimate subscription tiers will increase. However, the company encourages new sign-ups before this date, guaranteeing them to retain the existing pricing for the first six months. The price changes vary based on the country and the number of months subscribed.

Importantly, Nvidia clarified that US pricing will remain unaffected by these price increases, confirmed by an official spokesperson through an email to IGN. In contrast, GeForce Now's competitors, primarily Xbox Cloud Gaming, offer a free and limited subscription tier that restricts users to one-hour session lengths and lower resolution streaming. Nvidia's paid subscription tiers offer superior offerings such as streaming in 4K resolution with RTX enhancements and longer gameplay sessions. Notably, the premium subscription grants gamers access to an advanced RTX 4080 gaming rig for seamless cloud gaming.

First released as a beta in 2015 with the full version launching five years later, GeForce Now takes a unique approach towards cloud gaming. Its library doesn't comprise its unique games but is built around games owned by users on digital PC platforms like Steam and PC Game Pass. The library undergoes weekly updates for enhanced compatibility with different games.

Recently, Nvidia has made significant strides like collaborating with Microsoft to include first-party Xbox Games on GeForce Now. The service also offers one of the two existing options to play Fortnite on mobile devices since its native versions were withdrawn from App Store and Google Play three years ago. IGN's 2023 review of GeForce Now awarded the service a 7 out of 10, commenting that despite some flaws in game streaming, Nvidia's service offers a futuristic experience at a reasonable price.
