Aug 04, 2024 10:31 AM

It appears that the much-anticipated mobile version of Final Fantasy 14 is set to debut in China. Tencent has confirmed that China’s National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) approved 15 import games, including a mobile game based on Final Fantasy XIV, indicating it's moving forward. This new game, developed by Tencent and Square Enix, is expected to be a standalone MMORPG different from the PC version, potentially launching within 3 to 6 months. Alongside this, Tencent is collaborating with Koei Tecmo on a Dynasty Warriors 8 mobile game and is distributing Mario Golf: Super Rush and Paper Mario: The Origami King in China.

Will the mobile version of Final Fantasy 14 allow you to transfer your character from the PC version?n

No, the mobile version is designed to be a standalone MMORPG, meaning you won't be able to transfer your character from the PC version.

Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG developed by Square Enix. Originally released in 2010, the game was relaunched in 2013 as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn after the initial version received negative responses. The game has grown significantly with expansions like Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker, adding new storylines, areas, and job classes. The mobile game is expected to bring a new context to this expansive universe.
