In a recent Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) Indianapolis 2023, player Jeffrey Leonard emerged as the crowd's favorite when he was able to summon Exodia The Forbidden One, one of the most powerful card combinations in the game, not once but twice. Leonard, a seasoned player, achieved this feat using his Exodia Dracoslayer FTK (First Turn Kill) deck which allowed him to win in one turn if all pieces of Exodia are present in his hand and his opponent doesn't have the means to counter it.

The match was between Leonard and former Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG champion Justin Singh. Despite a rocky start, Leonard managed to assemble the winning combination, garnering applause and cheers from the crowd. Leonard became known in the Yu-Gi-Oh! community as a 55-year-old player who entered the game to play with his son, and has since made a name for himself through successful tournament runs.

During the second game, Singh took the lead, forcing Leonard to concede early on. In the decisive third game, Leonard made a remarkable comeback and was able to summon Exodia successfully, ultimately winning the match to the delight of the crowd. Despite the thrilling win, Leonard ended up placing 591st out of 1,957 players by the end of the tournament.

Leonard's Exodia win reminded fans that unpredictable and exciting moments are still possible in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, which has been around since 1999.
