nNew additions to the "Dune: Part Two" cast include Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, and Souheila Yacoub.

"Dune," originally a 1965 novel by Frank Herbert, has been a seminal work in the science fiction genre. Its sprawling universe and complex thematic material concerning politics, religion, and ecology have captured the imagination of audiences for decades. The first film adaptation in 1984 by David Lynch has a cult following, but it was Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation that brought "Dune" back to widespread acclaim, garnering multiple Academy Awards. "Dune: Part Two" is expected to continue the epic tale begun in Villeneuve's first film, covering the second half of the novel and expanding upon the intricate world of Arrakis and the many forces vying for control of its precious resource, the spice melange.n
