Everything You Need to Know About ALLES WAS IHR Zum Release in Early Access

Apr 16, 2024 1:12 PM

Moon Studios, previously known for their hit series Ori, is shifting their focus to an action role-playing game with No Rest for the Wicked. Set to hit early access on April 18, 2024, exclusively on PC via Steam, the game marks a significant departure from the team's typical style, offering an isometric perspective in a new world. While no early access is planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the complete game is expected to launch on these platforms, with a potential 2025 release. No information has been released regarding a Nintendo Switch version.

The early access version of No Rest for the Wicked includes the full first campaign chapter, multiple challenging boss fights, various equipment and weapon options, including crafting capabilities, and even a base for players to decorate. Only single-player mode will be available upon early access release. Moon Studios plans to roll out several updates during the early access period, including the addition of a multiplayer mode for up to four players, PvP capabilities, new chapters, additional worlds, more gear and enemies, a farming area, and expanded dungeon levels.

For the early access phase, No Rest for the Wicked is priced at €39.99, with a 10% discount until May 2, 2024, after which the price will increase. The game's story revolves around the political and religious turmoil in Isola Sacra amid the spread of a devastating plague called Pestilence. Players will embody a member of the Cerim, aiming to quell the spread of the disease while navigating the complex political landscape.

Gameplay-wise, while No Rest for the Wicked features isometric gameplay reminiscent of titles like Diablo 4, it takes heavy cues from FromSoftware's Souls series, emphasizing precise and studied combat, parrying, and counterattacks. Although it's not yet clear if it will match the Souls games' difficulty, players are promised a challenge that will ease as they acquire better gear.

For those interested in other adventure games, The Rogue: Prince of Persia, from the creators of Dead Cells, is another upcoming title set to enter early access soon.

When can players expect No Rest for the Wicked to leave early access?

No specific date has been given for when No Rest for the Wicked will leave early access. The final version is expected sometime in 2025, with gradual content updates planned during the early access period.

Background Information: Moon Studios is renowned for their work on the Ori series, which includes critically acclaimed titles Ori and the Blind Forest, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. These Metroidvania-style games were lauded for their stunning visuals, emotionally charged storytelling, and challenging platforming gameplay. No Rest for the Wicked marks a new direction for the studio with its focus on action RPG elements and an isometric view, which may be a surprise for fans accustomed to Moon Studios' previous platform adventure games.
