Feb 21, 2024 3:00 PM

An exciting announcement has surfaced for fans of Disney and action-platformers: a remake of the Wii classic, Epic Mickey, titled Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch. The reveal came from the latest Nintendo Partner Direct, with publisher THQ Nordic pledging to enhance the graphics and integrate new elements and skills into the game. Epic Mickey, which first captured gamers' imaginations in 2010, was developed by Warren Spector of Deus Ex fame and featured Mickey Mouse in a darker, more forgotten Disney world. Although there was a sequel to the original game, details about additional platform releases for Rebrushed or a precise launch date within this year remain unclear.

What can players expect from Epic Mickey: Rebrushed?

Players can expect improved graphics, new gameplay elements, and skills in Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, which aims to reimagine the original Wii title on the Nintendo Switch.

Epic Mickey is a renowned game developed by Junction Point Studios under the direction of Warren Spector. Playing as Mickey Mouse, players explore Wasteland, an alternate world filled with 80 years' worth of forgotten Disney characters and theme park attractions. The game is known for its unique blend of adventure, platforming elements, and moral choices that affect the game's outcome, as well as its original release's innovative use of paint and paint thinner to create and remove elements of the world.
