EPIC MICKEY Creator Eager to Make Third Installment

Feb 26, 2024 2:57 PM

Warren Spector, the creator of the Epic Mickey series, has expressed his desire to work on "Epic Mickey 3" but also noted that his current job makes it impossible to do so. Despite having a "high-level idea" for the sequel, prospects for its development seem unlikely. The two existing games in the series are "Epic Mickey," released in 2010, and "Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two," released in 2012. Fans can look forward to "Epic Mickey: Rebrushed," a remake of the original game announced by THQ Nordic during a recent Nintendo Partner Direct. The remake promises enhanced graphics and new features and skills, destined for a 2024 release across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

Is a remake of the original Epic Mickey game coming out soon?nYes, "Epic Mickey: Rebrushed" is expected to release in 2024 with updated graphics and additional features, available on various platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

"Epic Mickey" was a platform game designed by Warren Spector, known for his work on the Deus Ex series, and developed by Junction Point Studios. It received attention for its unique art style, which borrowed heavily from Disney's rich history of animation. The game featured classic Disney characters and settings, coupled with gameplay that revolved around the use of paint and thinner to alter the environment and solve puzzles. The sequel, "Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two," included a co-op feature where players could control Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The graphical updates and new elements in "Epic Mickey: Rebrushed" are likely to revive interest in this creative franchise and introduce it to a new generation of gamers.
