ENSHROUDED 2024 ROADMAP TEASES WORLD EVENTS AND NEW BIOMES

Mar 13, 2024 2:00 PM

The 2024 roadmap for the online survival RPG Enshrouded doesn't include a full launch, but players can anticipate a bounty of updates throughout the year. Keen Games, the developer behind Enshrouded, detailed an extensive list of features set to enrich the game. This year, enthusiasts of the title can expect new world events, additional biomes to explore, and a novel addition—potted plants. An extensive March update will kick off these introductions, which were influenced by the community's Feature Upvote system. The updates aim to enhance player involvement with the abilities to share and visit bases, engage in world events, delve into instanced dungeons, and explore diverse biomes, with water making its debut in the game.

Key improvements highlighted for Enshrouded also consist of Hollow Halls dungeons, Steam Deck support, performance upgrades, smoother gameplay, loot UI enhancements, and crafting from magic chests, among others. The roadmap extends to include replayable world quests, improved quest sorting, and a plethora of other enhancements designed to refine the gameplay experience. Despite these ambitious updates, a full release is slated for 2025, with Keen Games offering the Early Access version at a discounted rate during the Spring Sale. The game has received praise for its mix of survival elements akin to Valheim and exploration reminiscent of Breath of the Wild, showing promise in its current form with an IGN review score of 8/10.

When is Enshrouded releasing out of Early Access?

Enshrouded is planned to fully launch out of Early Access in 2025, though an exact date has not been specified.

Enshrouded is a nod to the success of survival games with a particular focus on multiplayer and exploration aspects. It draws comparisons to popular titles like Valheim for its survival mechanics and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for its open-world exploration elements, which have seen a substantial rise in gamer interest over the past years. The game’s continued development through Early Access allows for a more community-driven approach to feature implementations and improvements, suggesting a polished and collaborative final product for its audience upon the official launch.
