Having voiced Shrek’s loyal companion in the past films, Murphy revealed he has already started recording for Shrek 5 and will continue recording later this year. This development follows years of speculation and prior teases about new projects in the Shrek franchise.

When will Shrek 5 be released?

Shrek 5 is expected to be released in 2025, while the release date for the solo Donkey movie is still unspecified.

The Shrek series has been a pivotal part of animated film history since its debut in 2001.
