Gamers can look forward to diving into a jungle adventure as Super Nintendo World is set to expand with a new Donkey Kong Country-themed area in spring 2024. This brand-new section at Universal Studios Japan will provide an immersive experience complete with a main attraction called Donkey Kong’s Crazy Cart. This rollercoaster is inspired by Donkey Kong Country Returns, taking visitors on a thrilling ride to protect the prized Golden Banana. In partnership with the legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, various interactive elements will also be integrated, allowing guests to hunt for KONG letters with a Power-Up Band for extra thrills.
The theme park area will offer unique Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong Power-Up Bands to enhance guest experiences. An exciting lineup of merchandise will hit the park preceding the area's opening, starting December 6, including DK Barrel confectioneries and Banana Coin chocolates. Upon completion, Super Nintendo World will have grown by 1.7 times, with the Donkey Kong expansion marking its first rollercoaster-type ride. This addition aims to amplify the joy that IGN's glowing review captured, having previously given Super Nintendo World a 9/10 for its innovative and fun blend of gaming and theme park excitement.
