Oct 30, 2024 5:42 PM

Bandai Namco has announced a new social deduction game titled Death Note: Killer Within, based on the acclaimed anime series Death Note. Set to launch on November 5 for PlayStation and PC, the game allows players to split into two teams as they attempt to deduce the identity of Kira, L, and other pivotal characters. With gameplay reminiscent of the popular title Among Us, players must navigate a thrilling cat-and-mouse dynamic while utilizing roles to create strategic advantages. Available at no additional cost for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers, Death Note: Killer Within encourages players to collect clues, complete tasks, and engage in critical discussions to determine who among them is the real Kira.

What is Death Note: Killer Within and how do you play?

Death Note: Killer Within is a social deduction game where players take on the roles of various characters from the anime, including Kira and L. Players work in teams to gather clues and decide who is Kira during meeting phases, mixing strategy and deception as they eliminate others during gameplay. It’s designed for up to 10 players and will be available to PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers at no extra charge.

The Death Note series has gained immense popularity through its compelling storyline, revolving around a high school student who discovers a mystical notebook that allows him to kill anyone whose name he writes in it. The game's mechanics are inspired by the themes of judgment, morality, and the cat-and-mouse game between Kira and those who seek to stop him, making it a fitting adaptation for a strategy-based multiplayer experience.
