Disney has announced a reshuffling of its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) release dates, resulting in Deadpool 3 being the sole MCU movie set to premiere in 2024. Both Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts, which were previously slated for release in 2024, have been postponed to February and July of 2025 respectively. Deadpool 3 has been moved from its initial May release to July 26, 2024. Meanwhile, Blade's release date has been shifted to November 7, 2025, leaving two previously planned films without release dates.
Following the conclusion of the actor's strike, Deadpool 3's production is expected to ramp up, with Ryan Reynolds sharing a glimpse of Dogpool from the upcoming movie. Additionally, Disney has moved its Lion King prequel, Mufasa, from its mid-2024 slot to December 20, 2024.
nIn other related updates, Sony's Venom 3 has received a new release date, moving from June to November 8, 2024. This change comes as film productions pick up pace post-strike. Sony remains on track to release three comic book films in 2024, including Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter, compared to Disney and DC's single release each with Deadpool 3 and Joker: Folie à Deux respectively.
