dead rising gets jaw-dropping deluxe remaster

Jun 26, 2024 3:52 PM

Capcom has officially announced the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, an updated version of the iconic zombie game initially released on Xbox 360 in 2006. The remaster is set to bring improved visuals and updates to modern platforms, although no specific release date or platforms have been confirmed yet. Notably, the game will likely be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC given the franchise's history. A new trailer showcases the remastered game's opening with protagonist Frank West. However, it appears T.J. Rotolo won't return as the voice actor for Frank West. This remaster follows a previous HD version released in 2016 to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary.

What is new in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster?n

The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster features enhanced graphics, bringing the game's visuals up to modern standards. The trailer also suggests that the voice actor for the protagonist has been changed, which might affect long-time fans' experience. Additionally, while the core gameplay and story seem to remain intact, the remaster is expected to be available on various platforms, ensuring a broader reach than its original Xbox 360 release.

Dead Rising, originally an Xbox 360 exclusive, introduced players to a sandbox-style gameplay where they could use virtually anything as a weapon against hordes of zombies. The game was set in a mall, and players had a limited time to uncover the reasons behind the zombie outbreak. It spawned several sequels, remakes, and even live-action films, making it one of Capcom's notable franchises.
