CD Projekt, the company behind the popular game Cyberpunk 2077, has announced a live-action project to enhance the game's universe. Partnered with the production company Anonymous Content, known for hit shows like True Detective and Mr. Robot and award-winning movies such as The Revenant and Spotlight, they aim to bring the digital world to life.

Key players on the project include Garret Kemble, Head of Television for Anonymous Content Studios, Director of Development Ryan Schwartz, and Chief Creative Officer David Levine, former HBO’s Executive Vice President and Co-Director of Drama. Levine had a role in producing well-known series like True Detective, Westworld, True Blood, and early seasons of Game of Thrones. The project is currently in its early stages of development, with a search underway for a screenwriter to create a fresh story based on Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt's expansion into live-action follows the success of the Netflix animated spin-off Cyberpunk Edgerunners. This move also comes after several updates for Cyberpunk 2077, including the game achieving 25 million copies sold. The game’s expansion Phantom Liberty also did well, selling three million copies in its first week.

In other updates, CD Projekt's CEO Adam Kici?ski has announced he will be transitioning into a supervisory position in 2025. The latest addition to the game, Phantom Liberty, arrived on September 26 and established its base with Update 2.0 just a few days prior. This update completely overhauled Cyberpunk 2077, adding new features, such as an enhanced perk system and improved artificial intelligence.
