Capcom Unveils Frank West's Voice Actor in Dead Rising Remaster

Capcom has announced Jas Patrick as the new voice of Frank West in the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, much to the surprise of the fanbase after the original voice actor, T.J. Rotolo, confirmed he would not be reprising his role. The development team expressed regret regarding this decision but praised Patrick’s previous work, notably in Octopath Traveler 2 and Genshin Impact. The remaster aims to improve on the iconic 2006 game with enhanced graphics and quality-of-life upgrades, set to launch on September 19 digitally, with physical copies following on November 8. Significant gameplay changes include the ability to move while aiming, although some features, like the "Erotica" genre in the photography mini-game, have been removed.

The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster introduces visual enhancements powered by the RE Engine, improved lighting, and better in-game environments. Additionally, players will experience quality-of-life changes such as moving while aiming and improved AI for survivors.

Initially released in 2006, Dead Rising was a pivotal title in the open-world zombie survival genre, allowing players to explore a mall filled with zombies while completing various quests. Its unique photography mechanic and time management were revolutionary at the time, and the upcoming remaster aims to reinvigorate interest by modernizing these features while retaining the charm of the original game.
