CALL OF DUTY MARCH 13 UPDATE: LONGOBW AND HAYMAKER REBALANCED, SPAWNS IMPROVED

Mar 13, 2024 6:16 PM

The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone 2.0 has brought a series of balance changes, particularly to the Haymaker and Longbow weapons, alongside improvements to spawns and other gameplay tweaks. The Haymaker shotgun received a significant buff to its hipfire spread, a change aiming to make the weapon more consistent in close battles. Meanwhile, the Longbow sniper rifle had its hipfire accuracy and aim down sight time adjusted to maintain fair play in sniper engagements.

The update also introduced new spawn points in Hardpoint on the Skidrow map to reduce the likelihood of unfavorable spawn flipping and improve gameplay flow. Beyond weapons and spawns, various bug fixes and UI improvements were included, such as corrected progression challenges and crash fixes in Zombies mode. The update arrived soon after the Season 2 Reloaded content launch, which included new maps and a Warhammer 40,000 event.

What changes were made to weapon balance in the latest Call of Duty update?

The update increased the minimum and maximum hipfire spread for the Haymaker shotgun, while the Longbow sniper rifle had its 30% hipfire spread benefit removed and aim down sight time increased by 21%.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, part of the critically acclaimed franchise, is known for its compelling campaign and its engaging multiplayer experience. With a history of delivering impactful updates and balance changes, this latest patch signifies the developers' commitment to maintaining a balanced and competitive gaming environment, ensuring that players have a fair and enjoyable experience regardless of their preferred playstyle. It's a continuation of the series' tradition of responsive game design, as developers consider community feedback and data analytics to refine gameplay mechanics and maintain Modern Warfare 3's position in the competitive first-person shooter market.
