Blade loses its director again: Yann Demange exits film

Jun 12, 2024 11:59 PM

The production of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Blade movie has hit another snag as Director Yann Demange has reportedly exited the project. This marks the second director to step down from the Daywalker Marvel movie, following Bassam Tariq in 2021. Despite these setbacks, writer Eric Pearson is actively working on the script, with contributions from Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto, and Michael Green. Star Mahershala Ali remains committed to the project, which is aiming for an R rating and is now slated for release on November 7, 2025. Marvel is focused on ensuring the film's quality rather than rushing it to market.

Who is currently involved in the Blade movie project?n

Mahershala Ali is still attached as the star, and Thor: Ragnarok writer Eric Pearson is currently working on the script.

Blade was initially announced back in 2019, generating significant buzz among fans. However, the project has faced numerous hurdles, including director changes and production pauses, especially due to the writer's strikes in May 2023. Despite these challenges, the film is pushing forward with a commitment to delivering a high-quality addition to the MCU.
