Bethesda Montreal Joins the Union Wave

Bethesda Game Studios Montreal has officially filed for certification with the Quebec Labour Board to form a union under the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Canada. This represents a significant step towards unionization in the gaming industry, aimed at fostering a supportive workplace for creativity and talent. Other notable unions in the gaming sector include Activision Quality Assurance United and AEGIS for Sega. Since 2022, multiple ZeniMax Media studios, including Bethesda, have seen quality assurance workers forming unions. This movement comes as the industry experiences mass layoffs, including substantial cuts at Bethesda's parent company, Microsoft.
