Don’t Nod and Focus Entertainment recently declared that the launch of their much-anticipated game titled 'Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden' has now been postponed to Feb. 13, 2024. The game was originally slated to be launched on Nov. 7 this year.

The main catalyst behind the deferment is to avoid clashing with the heavy volume of game releases planned over the coming months. The heads of both companies were candid, acknowledging the current AAA release cycle boom in the market for PC and consoles.

In a joint statement, they expressed confidence that the delay would enable their new franchise to be duly recognized in a less saturated period. This isn't the first game to be delayed out of the Fall 2023 season due to the crowded game release schedule.

Earlier this month, THQ Nordic also rescheduled the 'Alone in the Dark' remake to avoid releasing close to major games like 'Alan Wake 2' and 'Marvel’s Spider-Man 2'.

The coming months are jam-packed with major releases like 'Modern Warfare 3', 'Like a Dragon Gaiden', 'Persona 5 Tactica', and others. But, the new February 2024 release date for 'Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden' means it will now have to contest with big titles such as 'Persona 3 Reload', 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth', among others.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S upon launch.
