Bad Boys 5 Teased After Ride or Die Success

Jun 13, 2024 11:17 AM

Bad Boys: Ride or Die continues the iconic Bad Boys franchise with another smashing success for Sony. With a production budget of $100 million, the film has already grossed over $120 million globally in just six days. This strong performance might pave the way for a fifth installment in the series, according to producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Bruckheimer emphasized that creating content that resonates with audiences is crucial, and if a movie works, people will flock to see it. The success of Ride or Die is reminiscent of 2020's Bad Boys for Life, which earned over $420 million worldwide. Sony is also considering keeping directors Billal Fallah & Adil El Arbi, who directed Ride or Die, for more projects, possibly even the next Spider-Man movie led by Tom Holland.

Will there be a Bad Boys 5?

Given the impressive box office performance of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, discussions for a fifth movie are already taking place. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has hinted that if the current film continues to perform well, we can expect official announcements about Bad Boys 5 soon.

The Bad Boys series has been a staple of action cinema since its debut in 1995, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. The franchise combines high-octane action with comedic elements, appealing to a broad audience. Bad Boys for Life, released in 2020, marked a significant comeback for the series, successfully reviving interest in the franchise despite the long gap since the second film.

It looks like the Bad Boys franchise still has plenty of fuel left in the tank with Ride or Die smashing it at the box office. If this momentum continues, I'm pumped for the potential of a fifth installment and maybe even fresh projects from directors Fallah and El Arbi.
