The series is being produced by CBS Studios with animation by Titmouse, known for Big Mouth and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Owen Dennis, a seasoned writer and storyboard artist, is leading the project. The cast includes Elijah Wood, Ashley Johnson, Randall Park, and Yvette Nicole Brown. Among Us saw a massive surge in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in Inner Sloth canceling a planned sequel to focus on enhancing the original game with new modes and maps.

Among Us, developed by Inner Sloth, initially released in 2018, gained significant traction in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, when socializing through online games became more prevalent.
