Capcom has announced that Akuma is joining Street Fighter 6 as the latest DLC character, scheduled for release in the spring. Akuma, first introduced as a secret boss in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, will be appearing with a new look, sporting a white beard instead of his iconic red hair. This release marks the end of the first year of additional content for the game. Akuma will be playable in the Fighting Ground mode and will also be a part of the World Tour mode. With Street Fighter 6's continued popularity, additional content is expected to follow beyond the initial offerings.

Who is Akuma in Street Fighter 6?

Akuma is a legendary character in the Street Fighter series, known originally as a secret boss in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. He is the younger brother of Gouken, who is the master of other iconic characters, Ken and Ryu. In Street Fighter 6, Akuma returns as a DLC character with a revamped appearance, complete with a white beard, and will be playable in both Fighting Ground and World Tour modes.

Background Information: Street Fighter 6 is the latest installment in Capcom's long-running fighting game franchise. The series is known for its diverse roster of characters, complex fighting mechanics, and its significant impact on the competitive fighting game community. Street Fighter has been a staple in the esports scene with tournaments held worldwide. As DLC characters like Akuma get added post-launch, they typically bring new excitement and tactics to the game, contributing to its longevity and evolving meta.
