Adam Sandler Voices a Senior Lizard in New Netflix Comedy Trailer
Oct 12, 2023 8:14 PMNetflix has just dropped the first full trailer for their upcoming animated film, "Leo". Featuring the voice talents of Adam Sandler as the titular character, Leo, a 74-year-old lizard, and Bill Burr as his terrarium-buddy turtle, this musical comedy already promises big laughs for the whole family.
The story takes place in a Florida elementary school, where Leo and his turtle friend have watched many generations of kids come and go as class pets. Now, Leo decides he wants more than the school life and plans an escape. This decision comes after a realization that he has only one year left to live, leading him on an adventurous and rather quirky bucket list mission, as seen in the trailer.
However, his journey wouldn't be free of challenges as Leo finds himself entangled in the everyday dramas of his worried students, including an exceptionally mean substitute teacher.
Apart from Sandler and Burr, the film features a star-studded cast. Sunny and Sadie Sandler, Adam's daughters, voice characters named Summer and Jayda, respectively, while Jackie Sandler, Adam's wife, lends her voice to Jayda's mom. The supporting cast also includes Jason Alexander, Rob Schneider, Cecily Strong, Jo Koy, Stephanie Hsu, Heidi Gardner, Nicholas Turturro, Nick Swardson, and Robert Smigel.
Directed by Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel, and David Wachtenheim and produced by Sandler's company, Happy Madison, "Leo" is set to hit the screens on Netflix on Nov. 21, following its inclusion in Netflix's 2023 Film Schedule earlier in the year.
