Aug 08, 2024 6:04 PM

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, has expanded its cast with seven new actors just ahead of its 2025 premiere. The series, adapted from George R.R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight, introduces characters played by Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway and Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate, among others. The show has previously cast Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell in lead roles as Duncan and Egg. Recently, a teaser trailer provided a glimpse into a world where the Targaryen dynasty remains powerful. Warner Bros. Discovery describes the narrative as a journey filled with great destinies and dangerous exploits happening in a time when the memory of dragons is still alive.

What is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms about?

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms follows the adventures of characters Duncan and Egg in a setting where the Targaryen lineage holds the Iron Throne. The series explores their improbable friendship against a backdrop of political intrigue and thrilling escapades.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms serves as a prequel to the acclaimed Game of Thrones series, itself based on Martin’s novels. The Hedge Knight stories are renowned for their focus on character-driven narratives within the expansive lore of Westeros. The success of the original show has set high expectations for this new series, particularly as fans eagerly await more content from this world, including other spin-offs like House of the Dragon.
