Oct 18, 2024 1:44 PM

Leaks suggest that the next entry in the Call of Duty series, rumored to be titled Call of Duty 2025, will be a sequel to Black Ops 2 and set in the early 2030s. This revelation comes after details emerged from a focus group meeting, which have since gained traction on social media. Activision has not confirmed or denied this information. The game is expected to continue the narrative established in Black Ops 2, featuring David Mason and integrating mechanics from the upcoming Black Ops 6, such as body shields and enhanced movement options. Additionally, a new Zombies mode could allow for eight players to team up. Despite scrutiny around franchise decisions, anticipation builds for Black Ops 6, which launches on October 25.

What can we expect from the Call of Duty 2025 game?

Call of Duty 2025 is being anticipated to build on the Black Ops storyline by bringing players into the early 2030s, with David Mason as the lead character. It aims to introduce fresh gameplay mechanics and a new Zombies mode featuring eight-player co-op gameplay, alongside familiar features from Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty is a long-standing franchise known for its intense multiplayer battles and engaging single-player campaigns. The Black Ops series, in particular, has garnered a massive following due to its intricate plots and character development, starting from the original Black Ops released in 2010. As Infinity Ward prepares for Modern Warfare 4, fans look forward to how Treyarch will revive and expand upon the beloved elements of Black Ops, especially after the significant development time allocated to Black Ops 6.
