New PS Plus Extra and Premium games for April 2026 are now available

PlayStation Plus, Sony's popular subscription service, rolled out an update to the Extra and Premium tiers on 21 April 2026. The latest additions include several notable titles, including Football Manager 26 Console, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and The Crew Motorfest, which are now available to subscribers on these higher tiers.

Access to the new games

It's important to note that subscribers to the base tier, PlayStation Plus Essential, do not have access to these new titles. That means they won't be able to download these popular games. Instead, Essential subscribers have access to a separate lineup of free games available from 1 to 5 May 2026.

Free games for PS Plus Essential

The free games available to PS Plus Essential subscribers this month include:

• Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream

• Lords of the Fallen

• Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered

These games must be claimed before 5 May 2026, after which they will be added to players' libraries permanently as long as they keep their subscription active.

New additions on PS Plus Extra and Premium

For players with a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscription, the following titles are now available to download:

• Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5)

• The Crew Motorfest (PS4, PS5)

• Football Manager 26 Console (PS5)

• WARRIORS: Abyss (PS4, PS5)

• Squirrel with a Gun (PS5)

• The Casting of Frank Stone (PS5)

• Monster Train (PS5)

In addition, Premium subscribers have received the PS2 classic Wild Arms 4 in the classic games catalog. It's worth noting that these new additions cannot be claimed permanently, unlike the free games for Essential subscribers.

Changes to user policy

In the UK, recent legal changes now require age verification for users to access certain features on PlayStation. These changes apply to both PS4 and PS5 users, with Sony adapting to the new policy, which mirrors requirements introduced by competitors such as Valve and Microsoft. The main impact is on access to social features such as messaging and voice chat.

While the age-verification changes are in effect, playing games themselves remains unaffected. That means gamers can continue playing their favorite titles, but they will need to meet the new requirements if they want to use social features.
