Nolan North wants to return as Nathan Drake, but only for a new Uncharted game
Nolan North says he’d return as Nathan Drake for a new Uncharted game, but only if Sony and Naughty Dog make one that meets the series’ standard.
- North says he has not heard anything official about a new installment and has not been approached about coming back.
- Rumors about a possible Uncharted 5 are not confirmed in the sources provided by Sony or Naughty Dog.
What happened
Nolan North, the longtime voice and motion-capture performer for Nathan Drake, has said he would be open to returning in a new Uncharted game, according to GameSpot. The comments were reportedly made during Gamergy in Puerto Rico, where North said he would come back “110%” and “absolutely” if another installment is made.
North also attached a clear condition: any new game would need to live up to the series’ standard. In the same reporting, he said he has not heard anything official about a new Uncharted project and has not been asked to return.
IGN also quotes North as saying a new Uncharted game could be “one of the biggest games ever.” In the tweet embed included with the coverage, part of his quote is also shown, where he says it depends on whether Sony wants to make money.
The questions stem from rumors circulating about a possible new Uncharted game. In the sources provided, those rumors are not confirmed, and there has been no public announcement from Sony or Naughty Dog that a new entry is actually in development.
