Lies of P sequel in full production: key updates and future plans

The popular soulslike game Lies of P now officially has a sequel in development. South Korean game company Neowiz, which co-developed and published the original game, recently revealed that the sequel’s prototype has been approved and that it has now entered full production. The news was confirmed in a recent financial report to investors.

Neowiz’s progress and strategy

Neowiz is not standing still and has also shared other interesting updates. The company reported that revenue from Lies of P’s DLC, Overture, has now stabilized. That means the expansion, which launched during last year’s Summer Game Fest, has been a financial success. The report also noted that Neowiz is pursuing several strategies around global IP franchising and fan-centered operations, aimed at driving strong revenue growth.

Narrative as a core strength

A major focus for Neowiz and its development team Round8 is strengthening its storytelling expertise. According to Neowiz management, narrative is a crucial selling point. They emphasized that in an environment where global development costs are rising, it is difficult to gain market recognition by relying only on technical or scale-based investment. As a result, story — and how it is delivered — has become even more important.

New development projects

Alongside the Lies of P sequel, Neowiz also announced that it is working on a new IP. This project is still in the planning stage, and no further details have been shared yet. Neowiz’s management stressed that new titles are evaluated based on three criteria: the originality and fun of the concept, market competitiveness, and their internal development capabilities. This helps their lineup diversify naturally, as directors bring forward their own ideas and proposals.
